With historical data and a classification model like logistic regression, you could develop a predictive model that takes data from a person's online application as inputs-attributes such has grade point average (GPA), year in school, major, number of extracurricular activities- and outputs a prediction if the applicant should be offered an interview.
Let's start simple by reviewing data from ten past applications using only their GPA as an input.
Looking down the table, the general trend is not surprising: students with a higher GPA are more likely to be offered an interview.
